MEDTRONIC HBCU IMMERSION PROGRAM
The Medtronic HBCU Immersion Program represents our strong partnership with the world’s largest healthcare technology company. The program brings talented HBCU juniors and MBA candidates together for a three-day, all- inclusive experience with the world’s largest healthcare technology company to learn and grow within the medtech industry.
In 2022, TMCF and Medtronic teamed up again with 23 student participants who became only the second Medtronic-TMCF internship class in the program’s history. This earned a 10-week paid internship where students received ongoing coaching and mentoring from a Medtronic manager, obtained career development advice and served as TMCF ambassadors on their respective campuses to build Medtronic awareness.
Students had the opportunity to learn about various career tracks within Medtronic, which included:
• Engineering (biomedical, computer/ software, electrical, mechanical)
• Finance and accounting
• Information systems and information
technology
• Supply chain management
To round out this invaluable experience, Medtronic senior leaders led interns in an intensive boot camp, exposing them to intensive corporate training.
We are most pleased to report that, upon completing their internships, seven students became full-time Medtronic employees.
