KROGER ZERO HUNGER | ZERO WASTE
INNOVATION CHALLENGE 2022
TMCF and The Kroger Co. Foundation hosted the second-annual Zero Hunger
| Zero Waste Innovation Challenge, a competition focused on designing solutions that align with Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste mission. To participate, students must currently attend an 1890 Land-Grant institution.
This year’s competition, held in Cincinnati, saw a total of 36 entrepreneurial and business-minded students participating on seven teams over three days. Each team worked together to design solutions for three challenges, leveraging Kroger leadership’s business acumen and engaging in business modeling, design thinking and pitch workshops.
Students competed to win up to $7,500 per team in scholarships, tech prizes, and support with a total of $74,000 in scholarships awarded at this event alone.
