MOGULS IN THE MAKING 2022
Moguls in the Making is a signature I&E event where TMCF, Ally, and the Sean Anderson Foundation team
up to discover the best and brightest entrepreneurial minds attending HBCUs. The 72-hour competitive event challenges students to develop innovative solutions that support economic mobility across a variety of industries.
This year’s competition was held in Charlotte and included student teams representing 14 HBCUs selected by TMCF. The field was narrowed to 10 teams, who
were tasked with solving economic challenges faced by various Detroit industries.
Judges included successful entrepreneurs, select business leaders, and Detroit native and music artist Big Sean. Prizes were awarded to the first-, second-
and third-place teams per team member, including a scholarship of up to $20,000, as well as laptops and other tech prizes.
Each member of the first-place team also earned a guaranteed Ally internship, while the second- and third- place teams earned an opportunity to have their resumes reviewed by Ally’s human resources professionals.
