BREAKING NEW BARRIERS:
INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
TMCF Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) programs tap into the future of diverse global innovators, allowing HBCUs and PBI students to cultivate what’s needed to shake up the world through technology solutions.
We offer three essential I&E programs: The Pitch, signature programs and innovation challenges, which teach business acumen incorporated with creativity and technology, fundamentals for both intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs.
I&E meshes strategic planning with strong corporate partnerships to provide a foundation that maximizes I&E student experiences, leading to greater gains for the HBCU community, the nation and the world.
THE PITCH 2022
The Pitch is a perfect blend of technology and business. The Pitch 2022 hosted a four-day entrepreneurial development conference in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for nearly 90 HBCU and PBI students representing 33 institutions.
Students competed against their peers during a 72- hour intensive workshop. A panel of professionals judged the final Pitch & Win competition, with Team Phoenix winning the top prize of $3,000 per student. The second- and third-place teams and three most outstanding participants received cash prizes, as well.
In addition to monetary support, students were able to network with budding entrepreneurs, learned from TMCF partners, and receive coaching by top-tier entrepreneurs and business leaders.
STUDENT TESTIMONIAL
“This program was amazing. I never thought I wanted to be a part of intrapreneurship and the business part of the tech space, but [now] I see the possibilities are endless. From seeing the work of the intellectual property lawyers to the coding workshops...I am extremely encouraged to think outside of the box [about] what I want to do next.”
