Team Member of the Year named at Sam’s Town
TUNICA RESORTS — Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Tunica
named its 2020 Team Member of the Year during a summer picnic. Team members gathered on the fourth-floor rooftop of the property’s parking garage for the barbecue event.
“All team members were invited
to help us celebrate the 2020 Team Member of the Year,” said Linda Williams, human resources manager. “We thought it would be a great idea to honor our 2020 Team Member of the Year nominees at the rooftop party and select our 2020 Team Member of the Year.”
As the picnic was underway, one name was randomly chosen from all
the team members who received a Team Member of the Year nomination. Geraldine Strausser, table games, was declared the winner.
“I could not believe my name was pulled,” Strausser said. “I was lost without words, but so excited.”
As part of her recognition, Strausser, who began working at the property in 1995, will receive an all-expense-paid vacation
to Hawaii. “Thank you to Boyd Gaming and all my friends at Sam’s Town,” Strausser said. “I plan to stay at Sam’s Town until I retire.”

Line cook receives Team Member of the Year award
BILOXI — IP Casino Resort Spa named Antwon Todd, food and beverage, as its 2020 Team Member of the Year. Todd works as a lead line cook in the Bayview Café.
Todd’s supervisor said he completes his tasks with little to no direction, is respectful to his co-workers and leads the kitchen by his example. He was also cited for ensuring customer satisfaction with the food product and encouraging his fellow team members during service.
In addition to receiving a trip for two to Hawaii, Todd received dinner with Bill Boyd, Boyd Gaming’s executive chairman of the board, and Marianne Johnson, Boyd Gaming vice chairman, executive vice president and chief diversity officer, in Las Vegas; a $1,000 cash award; paid time off; a special Team Member of the Year name badge and deluxe parking for a year.
