Erica Moore named to Top 50 business list
CHOCTAW — Erica Moore, director of public relations, guest services, internal communications, and special projects
at Pearl River
Resort, was recently included in the Mississippi Business Journal’s list of the Top 50 Leading Business Women in Mississippi.
Moore was
nominated for the
award by one of
her team members
at the property,
who wrote, “I
have watched her in countless leadership situations, ranging from coordinating a Christmas parade float to overseeing associate/management meetings of 1,000-plus attendees. It is never ‘just’ another ribbon cutting, news release, or social media post. Everything is treated as important, because she knows it is. Her interpersonal skills and management ability align perfectly.“
Moore holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from Mississippi State University and a Master’s in Communications from The University of Southern Mississippi. A native of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Moore has been with Pearl River Resort for 18 years.

Scarlet Pearl VP named to ELG 40 Under 40 Class
D’IBERVILLE — Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort’s Vice President of Human Resources Gretchen Holzhauser has been named to the ELG 40 Under
CEO LuAnn Pappas. “She is one of the few VPs of HR who will be on the floor on a Saturday night engaging with both employees and
guests.”
Holzhauser began her
career as a beverage server at Harrah’s New Orleans in 2006 and rose through front-of- house and back-of-house operations in both property and corporate roles.
Serving as vice president of human resources at Scarlet Pearl, Holzhauser has led major initiatives in

Holzhauser was selected from more than 125 candidates nominated either by a colleague who recognized their commitment and dedication to the gaming industry or by themselves, in the interest of inclusivity and with an appreciation for self-starters.

building the HRIS infrastructure from the ground up, leading COVID-prevention and -response efforts for the property’s 800- plus employees and ensuring the Scarlet Pearl property remains staffed during this turbulent time for hospitality labor.
Pappas added, “She walks what she talks, and through that has earned the respect of all Scarlet Pearl associates from our frontline to our executive team. We are so very proud to work with her.”
