ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE POLICY
TMCF is seriously concerned about the adverse effects of alcohol and drug
abuse on the health and safety of our team members, our business partners
and the community, and about maintaining standards of high performance
in our business. Use of alcohol and/or drugs can interfere with a team
member’s health and job performance. Drug and alcohol use may pose
serious safety, health or security risks, not only to the user but also to those
who work with the user. The possession, use, sale, or presence of illegal drugs or alcohol in the workplace poses unacceptable risks for safety, health and efficient business operations.
TMCF recognizes that its own health and future are dependent upon the physical and psychological well-being of its team members. It is the intent of TMCF to maintain a safe, healthy, secure and efficient working environment for all of its team members, and to protect TMCF property, equipment and operations. To this end, it is the policy of TMCF to maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace, with the exception of pre-approved TMCF sponsored events.
No prescription drugs may be brought onto TMCF premises by any person other than the person for whom the drug has been prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner, and such drugs should be used only in the manner, combination and quantity prescribed.
The use, possession, manufacture, sale or distribution of illegal drugs on TMCF property, as well as the presence
of an illegal drug on a team member in any detectable amount while on TMCF premises or on TMCF business, is strictly prohibited. A team member affected by such usage or under the influence of an illegal drug will be subject to discipline under this policy.
Being under the influence of alcohol on TMCF premises or while operating TMCF vehicles or using TMCF equipment is prohibited. Off-duty abuse of alcohol that results in excessive absenteeism or tardiness, causes accidents at work, causes poor performance related to TMCF duties, or results in a DUI may result in discipline up to and including discharge in accordance with TMCF’s policies regarding absenteeism, tardiness, poor performance and unsafe work practices.
SMOKING
In keeping with TMCF’s intent to provide a safe and healthful work environment, smoking is prohibited throughout the workplace and during or around any TMCF events. This policy applies equally to all team members, clients, and visitors.
