SAFETY AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION
TMCF is committed to maintaining a safe work environment and preventing workplace violence. TMCF has adopted the following guidelines to deal with intimidation, harassment and threats of or actual violence that may occur during business hours or on its premises.
Each team member is expected to obey safety rules and to exercise caution in all work activities. Team members must immediately report any unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor. Team members who violate safety standards, who cause hazardous or dangerous situations, or who fail to report or, where appropriate, remedy such situations, may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
In the case of accidents that result in injury, regardless of how insignificant the injury may appear, team members should immediately notify the human resources department or their supervisor. Such reports are necessary; they comply with laws and initiate insurance and workers’ compensation benefits procedures.
When deemed necessary by management, it is the policy of TMCF to allow authorized persons to search and inspect both TMCF property and personal items, including vehicles, brought onto TMCF property. Refusal to cooperate in a search, inspection or investigation will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
All team members, temporary team members, suppliers and visitors should be treated with courtesy and respect at all times. Team members are expected to refrain from fighting. Firearms, weapons, bombs, biohazardous materials and other dangerous or hazardous devices or substances are prohibited from the premises of TMCF without
prior written authorization. Any team member finding such items or materials on TMCF premises shall report it immediately to the human resources department and the operations director.
All threats of or actual violence, both direct and indirect (such as bomb threats), should be reported as soon as possible to the director of operations and Human Resources. This includes threats by team members, as well as threats by clients, vendors, solicitors, or other members of the public. When reporting a threat, you should be as specific and detailed as possible. Do not place yourself in peril. If you see or hear a commotion or disturbance, do not try to intercede, or observe.
TMCF will promptly and thoroughly investigate suspicious individuals or activities, as well as all reported threats of or actual violence. The identity of the individual making a report will be protected as much as is practical. In order to maintain workplace safety and the integrity of its investigation, TMCF may suspend team members, either with or without pay, pending investigation.
TMCF encourages team members to bring workplace disputes or differences to the attention of an appropriate person before the situation escalates into potential violence. TMCF is eager to assist in the resolution of team member disputes and will not discipline team members for raising such concerns.
