Promoting, Marketing and Making Things Happen...
Bring friends & family to these Special Events coming up in Downtown Gulfport:
UPCOMING EVENTS
3rd Annual Anchor Fest
“Nightlife in downtown Gulfport is growing in very exciting ways”, said Main Street Director Laurie Toups, “from the newest addition of Fishbone Alley to the revived 13th Street Jazz Bistro, Gulfport has a lot to offer!”
Fishbone Alley, the brainchild of Economic Development Director, David Parker, is a dream-come true. It’s located between 26th & 27th Avenue, and 13th & 14th Streets. It’s
a funky little destination that backs up to a number of restaurants and bars located around the alley. With the construction finally finished, we have started the art programs. Artists from all over the coast have been invited to “leave their mark” in the alley, with murals, panels and the shutter program. Expect to see other events and programming throughout the year with events like “The World’s Smallest Festival”. This is just the beginning of many wonderful events and programs to take place in Fishbone Alley.
A little more than a year ago we welcomed Chandeleur Island Brewing Company to downtown Gulfport,
located at 2711 14th St., and called
at 228.701.9985. Chandeleur (“shan- duh-leer”) Brewing Company was started by Cammack Roberds and Cain Roberds. Their love of beer began in the 90’s, which eventually lead to home brewing, and an endless pursuit of finding the best craft beers the World had to offer.
They chose the name “Chandeleur” in honor of one of their favorite places, the Chandeleur Islands off the coast of Mississippi. The uninhabited island chain is approximately 50 miles long and is home to some of the best redfish and speckled trout fishing on the planet.
In December of 2013, they
purchased a historic building
in downtown Gulfport and
broke ground for what is now Chandeleur Brewing Company.
Their vision was to handcraft
some of the most excellent ales
on the Gulf Coast using only the finest, freshest malted barley, hops, and local ingredients. And all we
can say is: Thank You for choosing downtown Gulfport as your home! >>
