Fine dining at its best, in a beautifully restored Southern home on the beach. Not only do they have some of the best fried shrimp on the coast, they have one of the most stunning views.
The Nord family founded The Chimneys in the 1980’s and actually changed locations a couple of times before settling on this current location on the Gulf.
“There’s nothing like a warm breeze off the gulf, while sipping on a cool beverage, and relaxing on the front porch of the chimneys!” (Quoting a satisfied visitor on a Sunday afternoon.)
You want to make sure to keep your Last Sunday of the Month free so you can enjoy free live jazz on the
porch. It’s the place to be!
The Gulfport Main Street Association, whose mission is to rehabilitate and rejuvenate historic downtown Gulfport, also supports a mixed-use environment, with retail, residential and commercial entities all in one district. A strong membership campaign promotes a good community spirit touting the great work of many businesses, organizations and volunteers that helped grow Gulfport into the viable community it is today.
Gulfport Main Street is the nonprofit organization that has been instrumental in the rebuilding and revitalization of Downtown. This district is dedicated to
redeveloping the community by bringing in public art programs, organizing events, and assisting
new businesses as they get on their feet.
