Treasure Bay
holds cook-off
to raise money
BILOXI — Treasure Bay’s Charitable Committee recently
held a chili cook-off fundraiser for crewmembers. By popular vote, the first-place winner was an entry from the security department.
“We had a great turnout for
the cook-off,” said Matthew Ulm, head of the Charitable Committee. “Everyone had a great time and each of the entries was unique — some spicy, some creamy, but all made with love.”
A sample cup of each chili was $5 and included chips, a variety of toppings, and a bottle of water.
Following the security department’s top dish, the second- place winner was prepared by Marilyn Mohler of the slots department. Third place was prepared by the buffet’s Cequeta Lang.
All proceeds raised by the Charitable Committee are donated to local organizations throughout the year. In addition to a trophy
and bragging rights, the first-place winner had the honor of selecting the charity for this fundraiser, and a $1,000 donation was made to the Fallen Officers Benevolence Fund.
