  PROGRAMS:
INTENTIONAL PROGRAMMING FOR CAREER SUCCESS
Through intentional and dedicated programming, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) provided opportunities for thousands of passionate and academically gifted students in numerous programs in 2023.
TMCF’s talent pipeline programs equip students with fundamental business skills and professional competencies through leadership development, career readiness and targeted tech upskilling designed to reduce barriers that have slowed the progress of Black talent in corporate America. Students learned strategies to navigate corporate culture through career-readiness simulations and enhanced their skills to develop into elite leaders and community anchors, which leads to transformative change.
SOME PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED:
Included among TMCF’s programming were new partners such as Las Vegas Sands, which provided
an experience for 12 students in Las Vegas. Students saw simulations of how each casino runs from a player and dealer standpoint, attended the Michael Jackson One Experience, participated in a CHOPPED-style culinary experience, toured Allegiant Stadium and met with DEI representatives from the Las Vegas Raiders organization.
Eight students graduated from the TMCF/Boeing Scholars program in Charleston, South Carolina. TMCF and Boeing have a strategic long-term partnership to establish a talent pipeline vital to future innovation success across the aerospace industry.
Hundreds of students at TMCF member schools traveled to Seattle, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Denver, Charlotte and Cupertino, California to participate in talent pipeline programs curated by TMCF with renowned corporations including Capital One, Aramark, Kiewit, Boeing, Medtronic, Lowes, Citi and Mondelez.
Medtronic and TMCF have partnered since 2020 to develop an annual internship program across the U.S., as well as a scholarship program sponsored by the Medtronic Foundation. Through the R&D Engagement Program, TMCF and Medtronic also partnered to award five grants of $40,000 each to faculty members at TMCF member schools.
Providing direct resources to HBCU students, nurturing and developing Black talent and creating a more equitable society that leads to economic mobility are some of the many ways TMCF continues the legacy of Justice Thurgood Marshall.
