SCHOLARSHIPS:
EASING THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OF HIGHER EDUCATION
TMCF supports its 53 member schools and their students through scholarships and capacity-building support.
Scholarships from TMCF have provided financial
relief to hundreds of thousands of students, allowing them to focus on their education and complete their degree. Hardships that often cause students to stop out is negated through this support. Generation upon generation is lifted permanently to the middle class through the efforts of our students and the impact
of TMCF. Initiatives like the Descendants Truth & Reconciliation Foundation scholarship program, which provides scholarships to descendants of Jesuit and Catholic slaveholding in the United States, allow our students access to an education that may not otherwise be possible.
Beginning in 2023-24, sixty students will receive $5,000 each for four years as part of the United Health Foundation investment of $1.5 million. Twenty-six
students received up to $15,000 each as part of the TMCF | Cargill Thrive Scholarship. Cargill also partnered with TMCF at Leadership Institute.
Thousands of thriving and academically strong students pursuing degrees at HBCUs, PBIs and HBCCs are invited to compete for these scholarship awards each year.
In 2023, TMCF scholarships were impactful with more than $22 million awarded. A total of 15,575 scholarship applications were completed for 2,839 awards. To date, TMCF has awarded more than $500 million in assistance to students and our member schools.
