KROGER ZERO HUNGER ZERO WASTE
I&E at TMCF teamed up with The Kroger Co. Foundation to identify and provide an amazing experience for innovators and entrepreneurs attending HBCUs and predominately Black institutions (PBIs). From the total pool of 125 applicants, 30 students representing six schools were selected to participate in the three-and- a-half day Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Innovation Challenge.
Students participated in business modeling, design thinking and pitching workshops; as well as heard from various Kroger leaders during the Zero Hunger | Zero Waste: The Social Impact Plan and Careers at Kroger sessions. Students also visited Kroger headquarters. The program concluded with a pitch competition where students presented their solutions for a selected case study. Teams competed for a chance to win up to $7,500 per team member in scholarships, plus prizes.
NBA INNOVATE THE FUTURE

in developing impactful solutions. Scholarships were awarded
to the winning team at the conclusion of this once-in-a-lifetime
learning experience. Ideal applicants were innovative and intra-
and entrepreneurial-minded HBCU student leaders ready to change the world through business and technology.
These future innovators competed for the David J. Stern Scholarship, a $10,000 award per team member, provided by the NBA and named in honor of an individual who greatly contributed to the success of TMCF.
