GIVING BACK
SOSO STRONG PEDIATRIC
BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION

Born from heartbreak and built on hope, the SoSo Strong Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation stands as a beacon for children and families navigating
one of life’s toughest battles. The organization was founded in honor
of Sophia “SoSo” Myers, a bright, spirited Gulf Coast child whose courage inspired an entire community to rally for awareness and research.
At just seven years old—a carefree
first grader at Oak Park Elementary in Ocean Springs—Sophia was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), the most aggressive and inoperable form of pediatric brain cancer. In a quick eight months, she was gone—but even now, almost a decade later, she’s not forgotten.
Today, SoSo Strong continues her legacy by funding pediatric brain-
tumor research, supporting families facing diagnosis, and advocating for better treatment options and outcomes. Through its events, fundraisers, and outreach efforts, the foundation channels grief into purpose—turning love for one child into life-changing help for many.
From charity runs and community events to hospital partnerships and family-support programs, SoSo Strong’s mission is simple: No one fights alone. Ever.
In every smile, every donation, and every act of kindness, Sophia’s light shines on reminding the Coast that giving back can also mean giving hope.
