Dr. Kiper C. Nelson, M.D., is an ophthalmologist, refractive cataract and glaucoma surgeon, dedicated to helping his patients achieve their best possible vision and quality of life.He earned his medical degree from the University
of Mississippi Medical Center, he completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest Eye Center, and advanced fellowship training in cataract and anterior segment surgery at Southern Eye Center.
Dr. Nelson specializes in advanced
cataract techniques, using the latest available lens implant technology.
Dr. Nelson’s glaucoma patients are frequently offered no stitch, no patch glaucoma procedures designed to control their glaucoma, typically resulting
in a decreased need for glaucoma medications, and in many cases, the elimination of the need for topical glaucoma medications altogether.
He prides himself on leading the way and being an innovator in terms of introducing groundbreaking technology
to Mississippi. Dr. Nelson was the
first eye surgeon in Mississippi to perform blade-free, laser-based cataract procedures.
Dr. Nelson is President Elect of the by- invitation-only Society for Excellence in Eyecare (SEE), and he is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Outside of the office, Dr. Nelson enjoys family time, church-related activities, and the great outdoors.
