Children are going back to school but the fun won’t stop. “August and September have become increasingly popular for couples, retirees, and empty nesters looking for a quieter coastal getaway. Visitors can still enjoy warm weather, boating, fishing, golf, beaches, and waterfront dining, often with more availability and attractive lodging rates,” Young said.
Director of Communications & Engagement Patricia Meagher tells about the late summer calendar. “It’s especially appealing, with nationally recognized concerts at the Sound Amphitheater and the Coast Coliseum, the Savannah Bananas Ball series in Biloxi, festivals, sporting events, and community celebrations.”
For September the calendar includes the The Firefighters and the Loco Beach Coconuts for a two-night Banana Ball series hosted by Keesler Federal Park.” Meagher says. “Along with signature annual events such as Cruisin’ the Coast, the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival, seafood festivals, fishing tournaments, concerts, and community celebrations, there’s something exciting happening every weekend.”
“Many of our tourism partners offer seasonal promotions throughout the year, including hotel packages, brewery experiences, gaming offers, golf packages, fishing charters, and attraction discounts,” Young explains.
Furthermore, Young says that late summer is an excellent time to explore the craft brewery scene, enjoy fresh Gulf seafood, experience museums and cultural attractions, or spend time on the water with fewer crowds than peak summer vacation weeks. As always, the Coastal Mississippi Attractions Pass is a great way to get discounts at some popular attractions and is available digitally at CoastalMississippi.com.
“Whether someone is planning a weekend getaway, a family vacation, a golf trip, or simply looking to unwind by the water,
there has never been a better time to experience Coastal Mississippi. Every community has its own personality, and together they create a destination that offers something new with every visit,” she added.
