to visit, work, and live! But who will lead this city in the future? We think many of these leaders are right here in D’Iberville. That’s why the City engaged our youth with the City’s inaugural D’Iberville Youth Leadership Council.
The City partnered with D’Iberville High School and selected 35 students to gain an insider’s perspective on
how municipal government works. They hung out with
the Police and Fire Departments, and even participated in drills. They spent time in our court department, visited with department heads from all three floors of City Hall, and finished the year with an amazing group of leaders from the federal government, law enforcement, and the business community. They also planned and executed their own
service project cleaning the shoreline at the City’s Fountain Pier Park and the 1-110 Marina.
Principal Cheryle Broadus stated “We are so thankful for the City of D’lberville’s unwavering commitment to our high school students and the incredible opportunities they provide them to give back to their community and learn the invaluable lesson of caring for it.” The Mayor, Council, and Administration are extremely proud of this inaugural group and excited for next year’s class.
D’Iberville continues to be a vital component in the overall success of this beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast and yes, “We’re on the move!”
