ATTRACTIONS
Fishbone Alley
Fishbone Alley is located between 26th and 27th Avenues and 13th and 14th Streets in the heart of historic downtown Gulfport. It’s a funky little destination that backs up to a number of restaurants and bars located around the alley.
Originally a utility alley used for trash and maintenance, Fishbone Alley was conceived to be not only a destination for visitors,
but a heartbeat in the middle of downtown Gulfport, drawing the community to all of the public spaces located in and around downtown. Since it’s inception
it has grown into a place for gathering, murals, and events.
Gulfport Arts Center
The Gulfport Arts Center offers
a large display of a variety of locally-produced art: paintings, pottery, and other crafts, sculpture, jewelry, woodcrafts, and books. Most of the art is available for sale. They also offer special exhibits, art classes in a variety of mediums, and children’s art camps.
GGFA is a co-operative co- founded by Mary Anne Barkley and the late Kathy McCall immediately after Hurricane Katrina to share the work of local artists. The organization became a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2015 and is located in the historic Carnegie Library Building. The GGFA currently has about 30 members. Membership is open to regional artists interested in displaying their work and being involved in the operation of the Arts Center.
