New life comes to the historic River City

Known as the historic River City, Moss Point has the distinction of being the only Coast city with a downtown riverfront. The city’s natural beauty includes Live Oak and magnolia trees,
draping Spanish moss and magnificent river views that beckon residents and visitors alike to stop and
experience a lively mix of amenities that includes shopping, dining, historic homes, attractions and plenty of events.
“We have something every month,” says Mayor Mario King, “and we want more events to keep people coming to see what our city has to offer.”
Events and natural beauty are just two pieces of the puzzle of this Jackson County city’s rejuvenation. “My mission includes building a sustainable Moss Point through progressive leadership, fiscal transparency, and public safety while enhancing quality of life through equity, economic growth, and diversity,” King said shortly after his election in 2017. “Moss Point has convenient access for economic growth.
