guest suite are by local artists featured in Guido’s Old Town shop, Bay Life. These include silver and gold leaf glasses by Eileen Garrison, pillows by Tracy Stieffel, icons and prayer jars by Nina Cork and paintings by William Hemmerling and Tehle McGuffee. There are also old pieces such as the framed historic New Orleans post cards and the flower lady prints done in the 1800s in Amalfi, Italy.
Ecuyer is currently the manager of the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club and Guido is a shop owner, but both had long careers as sales and marketing directors for major hotel chains, including Westin, Intercontinental, Lowe’s, Le Meridian, Fairmont and Windsor Court. “We had lovely careers in the hotel industry,” Guido, who lived through some recent history at hotels, said. “I was stuck at the Le Meridian in mid Manhattan during 9/11, and I was stuck at Windsor Court during Hurricane Katrina. Those were crazy times!”
