Development in D’Iberville takes off story by Kelsey Sunderman

Over the past few years, the city of D’Iberville has seen a tremendous increase in growth and development. From family owned businesses to the introduction of some new Big Box retailers in the market,
D’Iberville has staked its claim as a business powerhouse on the Coast.
The development of The Promenade shopping center, which opened in October of 2009, created an additional 700,000 square feet of retail space in the city. The Promenade is home to eleven anchor stores, such as Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kohl’s, and Best Buy, as well as 80,000 square feet of specialty retail and dining options. The establishment of this high-traffic retail area has helped to pave the way for even more developments in D’Iberville’s future.
Another new addition to the area is Ray Brandt Auto
and Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort
Group’s Mercedes-Benz of South Mississippi and its counterpart Volkswagen dealership. These two locations have been very successful and have been great additions to the ever-growing Promenade area. For Brandt, the owner, his means of success has always been customer experience. “We don’t want to just sell the customer this car, but every car in their lifetime,” said Brandt.
The dealership recently won the Mercedes-Benz Best of the Best Dealer Recognition Award, a prestigious annual award that recognizes only the top 15 percent of the Mercedes-Benz USA retail network.
Yet another highlight in D’Iberville’s recent history was the opening of the Scarlet Pearl Casino and Resort. The casino’s grand opening in December of 2015 marked the end of the city’s 20-year wait for its first casino location. The Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort features 300 hotel rooms, a Miniature Golf Course, an event center, a luxurious
