Mississippi Aquarium, the City of Gulfport, and the Gulfport Redevelopment Commission are revising the opening date of the highly anticipated Mississippi Aquarium. A new opening date will be announced soon.
David Kimmel, President of Mississippi Aquarium said, “We have made incredible progress and look forward to welcoming our animals to their home as soon as possible. While this will take a little
longer than expected, the facility must
be completely ready for both the animals and the public when we open the gates. Our team is working diligently to bring all the pieces of this multi-faceted project together perfectly. It is our obligation
to provide our city, Coastal Mississippi and the entire state with an unparalleled
aquatic experience – one that remains focused on our three pillars: education, conservation and community.”
When open, Mississippi Aquarium will tell the incredible story of our state’s aquatic resources and the remarkable connection that ties the state’s natural resources uniquely together. Prior to opening, the Aquarium will continue to focus on community events, education outreach, and marine research.
