Youth Association provides opportunities for growth

Growing up, Jeffery Barney faced more than his fair share of obstacles in life, but found his stability in sports. In fact, his passion ultimately earned him an athletics scholarship to Southern University in Baton Rouge, La.
Seeing firsthand how valuable sports could be in the life of a child, Barney set out to create Gulfport Green Wave Youth Association (GGWYA). The goal of the organization is to encourage youth development by providing opportunities for personal and athletic growth to those who might not otherwise have that chance.
