Celebrate spring April 9 – 12 by touring local homes, gardens and historical places from Diamondhead to Moss Point. The tour is complimentary and is presented by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Council of Garden Clubs.
“This year marks our 65th Spring Pilgrimage, and each day is an adventure to a different location,” said Beth Margherio, pilgrimage chairman. “On the tour we have outstanding private homes, lovely gardens, and places of historical significance that include Beauvoir, 12 Oaks Land Trust property, Ocean Springs Community Center and the Charnley-Norwood House.”
Floral Exhibitions are a distinct feature of the 65th annual tour and
will feature two floral presentations. “Guests will want to visit both exceptional exhibitions,” Margherio said. “Monday, April 10, at 1:00 p.m., Dogwood Garden Club presents ‘Walter Anderson Through Flowers,’ a group
of interpretive arrangements in the Ocean Springs Community Center on Washington Avenue.”
Wednesday, April 12, at 9:00 a.m.,
the Diamondhead Garden Club
presents a Small Standard Flower
Show, ‘Paintings,’ in the Diamondhead Community Center. All titles are themed around painting styles and subject matter. The three design classes are asked to interpret a specific artistic style, and the designers are free to create his or her own representation of the style.
“Our raffle items for this year are bird houses that represent the variety of homes in this region,” Margherio said. “Artists and craftsmen have created
unique interpretations on this
theme. These dwellings for our feathered friends are elevated to works of art and symbolize our homes and the decorations of these homes along the Gulf Coast.”
