Tynes lives with the thought of having a servant’s heart. “If not
me, then who?” she said. “I have volunteered as a board member and walk chair for March of Dimes, been a Girl Scout Troop leader and orchestrated several collections
for the homeless. I feel we should proactively look for ways to contribute to our communities.”

She is active in the Chamber of Commerce and St. Peter’s by the Sea Episcopal Church in Gulfport. She and her husband live in Long Beach and have two sons in college and a wacky dog that refuses to run away from home.
