To stand the test of time – and a gastronomic palate – a restaurant must deliver delicious food in a consistent and unwavering manner. The Chimneys Restaurant in Gulfport continues not only to meet this persistent challenge but rise above in a truly stylish and sophisticated fashion.
Sister/brother duo Sophie and Watson Nord are the current
owners of this local restaurant that needs little introduction. Originally opened in 1985 by their parents, Peter and Dix Nord, The Chimneys was the result of a realization that the Coast seafood scene was in need of something special.
The Chimneys was named in honor of its original location – The Chimneys Village – in Long Beach where a series of tall chimneys served as nautical markers for travelers. The focus has always been on Gulf seafood and, three locations, four buildings and almost forty years later, The Chimneys found its home on Beach Boulevard in Gulfport. It continues to be a dining staple along the Coast.
