your own crowns. It kind of sets us apart,” he said.
He offers other procedures for his patients that give them good dental health as well as a positive feeling about their appearance. His practice accepts most dental insurances as
well as Care Credit.
Invisalign
Dr. Timmons uses an iTero intraoral scanner for a precision image of his patient’s teeth to be fitted for Invisalign aligners. Invisalign is an alternative to wire braces that uses transparent, incremental aligners to adjust teeth.
“The iTero can scan the upper and lower teeth with a click of a button. One minute later, patients can be shown a movie of their teeth moving into a straight position. They can see the results of the orthodontic movement before they ever start,” Dr. Timmons said.
The Invisalign aligners are not as noticeable as traditional metal braces, and they can be removed for eating and teeth cleaning. Treatment takes between nine months and a year, and teens up to adults can use the aligners.
Zoom II
Zoom is a process to lighten discoloration of teeth that can result from drinking coffee, tea, cola, red wine, smoking
or aging. “We offer the Zoom II process that has a light
in conjunction with a whitening gel. In a one to two hour appointment, a lot of patients can experience whiter teeth to about four to eight shades lighter,” Dr. Timmons said. “The special system has less post-operative sensitivity than many
whitening treatments.”
GALILEOS system
Dr. Timmons has taken the Cerec crown and veneer technology a step further by investing in a Sirona GALILEOS 3D Dental Cone Beam CT Imaging System. His office
was one of the first in Mississippi to have this cutting-
edge technology. While a patient is seated, a cone beam produces a 3D image of the jaw that Timmons can view
from all angles, and see problems that are undetectable by conventional imaging techniques.
He uses these advance images in conducting dental implants in patients. Traditionally oral surgeons would place the implants in the patient’s jaw and the dentist would add the crown. Now Dr. Timmons can do the entire procedure
in his office. “It has taken out all the guesswork. I can see exactly where I have the implant in the jawbone and where the nerve is, and avoid sinus cavities,” he said.
He added, “This turns the whole thinking upside down whereas the general dentist can design where the crown goes, and then the implant and its placement, all integrated and more precise and takes all the guesswork out of it. That is guided implant surgery in a nutshell.”
Dr. Timmons continues researching and bringing innovative technology to his practice. “I like staying up with the latest in dental technology. I love giving my patients the very best in dentistry,” he said. “I have a lot of pride in my work.”
