HARRISON COUNTY CHANCERY CLERK - ANGELA THRASH
As Harrison County Chancery Clerk, Angela Thrash likes serving others. She finds the intrinsic rewards of helping others to be what truly motivates her day in and day out.
“Many times, a phone call will land at my desk after several unsuccessful attempts with other departments,” she says. “I pride myself on being patient, a great listener, and a problem solver. The highlight of my
day is being able to address someone’s concerns and give them helpful answers.”
Her career in the chancery clerk’s office began 30 years ago as a
single mother. “So often we live our lives trying to figure out what we’re supposed to do or questioning if we’re doing the right thing. Thirty years later I am still doing what I love. Be happy with what you have while working for what you want,” she advises.
She says close friends describe her as having a magnetic personality with a strong work ethic and a giving, kind, and compassionate heart.
That’s why volunteerism is important to her. “Through my children, my family and friends, colleagues, and various organizations, I enjoy being a small part of community enhancement and serving others through volunteerism.”
Thrash’s family is incredibly close-knit with strong morals and
values. “My parents provided a supportive foundation for my sister, Crystal, my brother, Bennet, and myself,” she recalls. “Losing my dad in 2019 was painful and tough, but his words to me were to always remember who I am and stay true to myself. His advice and wisdom have been valuable to me and the guiding principles that helped me and contributed to my accomplishments thus far. He will forever be my guardian angel.”
When not working, Thrash enjoys spending time with family, shopping and volunteering. “Any day spent on the water is a great day, especially when it includes laughing with my family and friends.”
