Meet Jimmy Thomas. While taking computer classes in college, Jimmy Thomas realized IT was the thing for him. He earned double Associates degrees in Applied Science and Computer Servicing and Computer Networking at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and has worked in the field 20 years.
“My father did construction and when I was in high school he would always have me doing labor and simple carpenter work for him,” Thomas recalls. “Working outside those summers doing construction made me realize I wanted to go to college and get a degree doing something that I love, and it also taught me that if you’re going to do something, you should do it right.”
In his work he likes that he’s doing different things all the time. “I might be designing a complex network environment one day and the next day be up a ladder running cable or working on cameras or wireless access points,” he said. “I really enjoy designing and maintaining network infrastructure for my various clients.”
He enjoys all the Coast’s outdoor activities and being with his awesome wife, Sheila, and beautiful 17- year-old daughter, Taylor, who never surprises him at how smart she is.

Who or what inspired you to pursue your current career?
My family has always been a driving force in any decisions or directions I take in life. But it was my brother David Pilger who inspired me to go to law school and more importantly, join him at Pilger Title Company and practice real estate law. His dedication to the Gulf Coast and the relationships he’s cultivated over the years have set a standard that I aspire to live up to as I work alongside him and continue to grow Pilger Title Company.
What I like best about what I do is: I love working with home buyers, sellers and investors all along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I grew up in Ocean Springs, and I love being a part of the continued growth and new development all along the Gulf Coast.
My greatest successes have been: I’d have to say
my greatest success was graduating first in my class in law school. I am committed to keeping that momentum going by striving to be the best at what I do and making sure all of our clients have the very best experience working with Pilger Title Company.
