It’s really easy to find Bozo’s Too in Pascagoula. It is, after all, right next to Bozo’s Seafood Market and Deli, the “dive” that has gotten some national attention for its fried and boiled seafood and $7 12-inch shrimp poboy. Just park in Bozo’s lot and walk across to Bozo’s Too.
Owner Keith Delcambre said
Bozos Too is a “real restaurant.” But wait? Isn’t Bozo’s Seafood Market one of the most popular eateries on the Coast? Isn’t it the place where Delcrambe sells more than 1,500 shrimp poboys a week? “Bozo’s Seafood Market is a a seafood market that has a grill and sells food,” he said. “My dream has always been to have a real restaurant.”
Delcambre has achieved that
goal with Bozo’s Too. There are no “shelling stations” (holes in the
table to discard crustacean shells). Bozo’s Too uses real plates instead of Styrofoam, it has a sit-down bar area and it offers tableside wait service as
opposed to ordering at the counter in the market. But there’s one obvious nod to the original establishment.
“I covered the tables and booths in butcher paper,” he said. “That’s my tribute to the original poboys at the market, which we wrap in white butcher paper.”
There are poboys on the menu at Bozo’s Too, but there are also steaks and pastas and signature sandwiches and other items that are part of its extensive menu. The menu offers include a catch of the day, flounder dinner, burgers of several different styles, appetizers and a daily selection of deserts.
“We’re not yet where I want to be in terms of our menu, but we are getting there,” Delcambre said, when he wasn’t greeting the long line of returning customers who wanted to wish him well. ”Pascagoula has been so good to me that I wanted to do something good for them and I think we’re doing that with Bozos Too.”
