GAMING’S ECONOMIC IMPACT
MISSISSIPPI GAMING IN 2024:
STAYING STRONG
• Mississippi commercial casinos generated $2.43 billion in gross gaming revenue and $3.24 billion in total revenue, about 2% less than 2023, when gross gaming revenue was closer to $2.5 billion and total revenue was closer to $3.3 billion. The Gulf Coast region was virtually the same year-over-year, down last than half a percentage point.
• Last year, the industry generated $808 million in non-gaming revenue — up slightly from 2023. Restaurants, retail outlets, spas and convention
space helped attract visitors who spent more money enjoying these amenities.
• In 2024, the Mississippi gaming industry supported more than 16,000 direct jobs with close to $800 million in wages and benefits.
• In 2024, the industry spent close to $50 million on advertising and promotions with close to 75% coming from the Gulf Coast Region.
