MISSISSIPPI GAMING IN 2023:
STAYING STRONG
• Mississippi’s commercial casinos generated $2.4 billion (that’s billion with a B) in gross gaming revenue
and $3.2 billion in total revenue. Gulf Coast casinos experienced a revenue increase in 2023.
• In 2023, the Mississippi gaming industry supported 16,326 direct jobs — an increase from 2022.
• Last year, the industry generated $801 million in non- gaming revenue — up from 2022. Restaurants, retail outlets, spas and convention space helped attract visitors who spent money enjoying these amenities.
• In 2023, the industry spent $55 million on advertising and promotions with more than half of that coming from the Gulf Coast Region.
