OBSERVATIONS
• Gaming and tourism are a driving force in the state. Tourism remains the fourth largest industry, with gaming and hospitality leading the way.
• People from around the world continue to visit Mississippi, discovering it to be a wonderful state with much to offer. This is illustrated by the fact that both Beau Rivage Resort & Casino and Harrah’s Gulf Coasts ranked in the top 10 in a USA Today readers’ poll of casino hotel resorts in the United States. Overall, in 2023, Mississippi’s visitation remained roughly the same as it was in 2022.
• There is much for visitors to experience in Mississippi: great food, history, literature, blues music, gaming and entertainment. Every community in the Magnolia State has its own story to share. We know if visitors come, they will return!
