“Let’s Talk Spuds and Buds,” a Food Safety and Health and Wellness Program sponsored by the Alcorn State University Extension Program, was held September 28 at the Je erson County Multi-Purpose Building in Fayette, Mississippi. e event o ered knowledge of basic food safety practices as well as guidance on reading nutritional information from food labels. Jardana Brice, area family and consumer science educator, facilitated the event with assistance from program volunteers Deborah Tenner and Patricia Adams.

One of Alcorn State University’s Army ROTC instructors was acknowledged for her hard work in the Department of Military Sciences. Former 1st Lt. Katherine Cooprid- er was promoted to captain during a promo- tion ceremony ursday, Nov. 8 in the Army ROTC Building. Cooprider’s colleagues, cadets, and family came out to support her on her rise in her career.

Fall Business and Industry Cluster in September. e forum provided an opportunity for the School to share information concerning education, psychology and counseling, and educator preparation programs to community health agencies and school district professionals.
