Nonprofits receive funds from Horseshoe Tunica
TUNICA RESORTS — Horseshoe Tunica provided
a $26,000 donation from the Caesars Foundation to support nonprofit organizations in Memphis, including underserved youth, people experiencing housing or food insecurity, civil rights and more. Five organizations were assisted through funds collected from the foundation.
“We are honored to support the great work that’s done right here in the Mid-South,” said Derrick Madison, senior vice president and general manager of Horseshoe Tunica. “As a company, we believe that together we win, and that extends to our communities in which we all live. Our team members have always made giving back a priority, and we are honored for the opportunity to support all five of these incredible organizations who work so hard to make positive impacts in our communities.”
Organizations receiving funding include the National Civil Rights Museum, $7,500; Women’s Foundation For a Greater Memphis, $7,500; Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Foundation, $5,000; United Way of Greater Memphis, $5,000; and Memphis Child Advocacy, $1,000.
Madison added, “Thanks to the Caesars Foundation and charitable funds raised through donated change and gaming vouchers, our mission to serve our communities will continue to thrive.”
Horseshoe Tunica is dedicated to supporting the communities in which it operates with an ongoing commitment to economic development.

Canned Food Collection
 Beau Rivage SIS Council hosted a canned food drive and competition in March. Employees from nearly a dozen departments at the Biloxi resort donated more than 2,400 pounds of food. The Charter Services department (pictured) won the competition by donating 645 pounds of canned goods. They will receive a celebratory pizza party from security, Beau Rivage’s SIS March hosting division. The canned food items, including 545 pounds donated from security, 250 pounds from hotel operations and 218.5 pounds from uniform control, will be disbursed to local food pantries in the Gulf Coast community.
Diaper Drive
 Hard Rock partnered with United Way of South Mississippi during January to host a diaper drive in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Hard Rock employees, who are passionate about the community and caring for others, donated diapers in a variety of sizes, which were then distributed to local agencies for families in need.
