Scarlet Pearl donates to United Cajun Navy
D’IBERVILLE — Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort donated $20,000 to the United Cajun Navy to support ongoing relief efforts following Hurricane Ida. The hurricane struck Louisiana and Mississippi at the end of August.
The nonprofit, all-volunteer Cajun Navy organizes search and rescue missions and delivers aid with a focus on natural disasters. The Cajun Navy comes from several locations throughout the U.S. to support a supply chain to reach people in need, wherever they are.
“We feel that supporting this effort
through our Scarlet Pearl Cares initiative is a great way to directly help the lives of those most affected
by this storm,” said
Scarlet Pearl CEO
LuAnn Pappas. “The
United Cajun Navy is
renowned for quickly and
thoroughly reacting to help
those who are in need after
storms.”
Brian Trascher, United Cajun
Navy vice president and national spokesman, said the organization has been overwhelmed with the support it
has received from across the country. He credits Scarlet Pearl with their
donation coming when needed the most.
“In our neighboring state of Mississippi, Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort reached out
to the United Cajun Navy right away offering assistance. With
proactive partnerships and generous contributions from top-notch corporate citizens like Scarlet Pearl, the United Cajun Navy will be able to keep
serving those in need throughout our community and beyond,” Trascher said.
 Help After The Storm
Beau Rivage recently donated more than 18,000 bottles of water to the American Red Cross for use in disaster response for those impacted by Hurricane Ida. In addition to the water, Beau Rivage provided thousands of bath and hand towels, as well as 10 cases of toiletries.
