 Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Fitz Casino & Hotel donated $3,000 to support the annual Breast Cancer Benefit Golf Tournament sponsored by sister property WaterView Casino Hotel in Vicksburg. Accepting the donation from Fitz Casino were WaterView team members Katie Ray, marketing; Vice President and General Manager Penny Bankston; and Mike Emery, casino operations.

PRR, Bok Homa raise awareness, funds for ACS
MISSISSIPPI — Associates at Pearl River Resort and Bok Homa Casino raised $11,618 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. The money was presented to the Mississippi American Cancer Society, demonstrating the properties’ commitment to supporting breast cancer awareness and research.
Those who participated in the annual campaign wore pink buttons and breast cancer awareness T-shirts every Friday throughout October. Associates also received pink ribbons to write messages of hope, the names of loved ones who fought the battle, or those still in the fight. To further raise public awareness, more than a thousand of the pink ribbons adorned the windows of the Silver Star Casino promenade and the entrance of Bok Homa Casino.
Resort executives expressed pride in the associates and their contributions, highlighting the collective effort and dedication to this important cause.
Pearl River Resort executives present a check for $11,618 to a representative of the South Region of the Mississippi American Cancer Society.
   Spreading Awareness
Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa made donations to the Delta Cotton Belles and the Fannie Lou Hamer Cancer Foundation, both dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer. Harlow’s President and General Manager Roscoe Greene presented a $1,500 donation to Fannie Lou Hamer Cancer Foundation representatives Mildred Moor, community health advisor, and Freddie White- Johnson, founder. (Below) Greene presented a $500 donation to Delta Cotton Belles representatives Netty Seard, community outreach coordinator, and Kim Dowdy, vice president.
   Kick-Off Event
Horseshoe Casino Tunica held a kick-off event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Spiriting their pink gear, employees stretched, exercised, and enjoyed healthy snacks at the team member health and education event. Additionally, the property’s outdoor lights were set to pink in October.
