Dear Dr. Harry L. Williams,
March 7, 2025
It is my great honor to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) on the occasion of the CEO Impact Awards, honoring Advocate Health CEO Eugene Woods on March 12, 2025. As a lifelong advocate for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), I applaud TMCF’s unwavering commitment to empowering students and strengthening the institutions that serve them.
For over three decades, TMCF has been a beacon of opportunity, ensuring that students at HBCUs receive the support, mentorship, and resources they need to thrive. The CEO Impact Awards are a testament to the power of leadership and the critical role that corporate and philanthropic partners play in advancing the mission of HBCUs. By recognizing and uplifting leaders who invest in our students, TMCF continues to foster a legacy of excellence and economic mobility.
As the founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan HBCU Caucus in Congress, I have seen firsthand how HBCUs transform lives, create jobs, and serve as engines of opportunity. Institutions like North Carolina A&T State University, Johnson C. Smith University, and Winston-Salem State University are integral to the economic and cultural fabric of our great state and our nation. TMCF’s work ensures that these institutions remain strong, resilient, and positioned for the future.
Congratulations to Gene for being awarded TMCF's prestigious CEO Impact Award; I cannot think of a more deserving recipient! And congratulations to Thurgood Marshall College Fund on this momentous occasion. I look forward to continuing our shared work in support of HBCUs and their students. Thank you for your leadership and dedication to creating a brighter future for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. Member of Congress
