 Gretchen Maxwell’s family started Associated Food Equip- ment & Supplies, Inc. in 1982, meaning she learned the industry from a very young age. “It has kind of just been a part of me since my teenage years,” the general manager of 25 years says.
Associated Food Equipment & Supplies, Inc. is a food service equipment dealer dedicated to a successful conceptu- alization and implementation of their clients’ food prepara- tion projects. Their business has been built on a foundation of service, knowledge, expertise, training, and commitment.
The company’s current owner and partner to the original owners, Otto Abad, has continued exemplify the core values of the company and considers every employee family.
The women of Associated Food Equipment & Supplies play an integral part in the day-to-day operations. Com- bined, their staff has over 50 years of experience in project design and implementation. Their customer base includes corporate and private clients in projects such as casinos, schools, correction facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and independent restaurants.
Maxwell believes the relationships they develop with other
women in the community is of vital importance to their success. “We value our partnerships with ladies like those pictured adjacent who make up the dynamic team of Gulf Coast Restaurant Group, which includes Half Shell Oyster House, The Rackhouse, and the new Catch 110,” she says. “We all love to see each other succeed.”
