Adrienne Mikell-Sturdavant has a passion for healthcare. “First and foremost, I believe that it is a field that is constantly in need of skilled professionals. By opening a medical trade school, I am able to provide individuals with the training and education they need to pursue a career
in the healthcare industry,” she explains. “Secondly, I wanted to create a more accessible and affordable option for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare.”
Mikell-Sturdavant worked for many years in the healthcare industry. She has owned a weight loss clinic, esthetic center, and a homecare agency. With these experiences, she saw the need for more accessible and affordable education.
Since opening her medical trade school, Mikell- Sturdavant has loved seeing the impact education has had on the lives of students. “Many of our graduates have gone on to secure fulfilling and rewarding careers in the healthcare industry, and it is incredibly rewarding to see them succeed and thrive in their chosen field,” she says.
There are complex regulatory processes required to establish and operate a healthcare education institution, and Mikell-Sturdavant has navigated it all. She is excited to be moving from Biloxi to a new and improved facility in Gulfport soon.
In her spare time, she runs two other businesses, loves riding her bike on the beach, and is raising two children.
