As a young entrepreneur herself, 12-year-old Kennedi Rose Sturdavant, owner of K.Rose Cosmetics, knows what other young female entrepreneurs may be experiencing. She says, “Always believe in yourself and put God first. And it’s important to support other woman-owned businesses because by supporting woman-owned, we can help level the playing field and create more opportunities for female entrepreneurs.”
Sturdavant was inspired to start her cosmetics line by
the love of beauty and makeup. “I was mostly interested
in lip kits, however, while working with my mom and
the production company, I realized that I should do more. Besides, I would love to be an entrepreneur like my mom,” she says.
The most exciting thing in her business currently is that her product will be featured in local boutiques and she’s setting up at local events.
Watching her mom change so many people’s lives has been important to her in starting her career.
What she likes best about what she’s doing is making people look pretty. “I’ve had to overcome the obstacle of learning how to make decisions at a young age,” she said.
Sturdavant loves to sing and is a great basketball player, which may come as a surprise to many who know her. What she likes most about living on the Coast is the water and swimming. “Also, I love when it’s Cruisin’ the Coast time and my favorite restaurant is Ruth’s Chris,” she says.
She is thankful for her mom, Adrienne, who is an amazing mom, and her dad, Thomas, who is an awesome dad. Completing the family is her brother Colby, who is getting ready to start chiropractor school.
