Meet the Women of The View’s Culinary Management Team
Whoever said a woman’s place is in the kitchen could have easily been referring to the extraordinarily talented women at Island View Casino Resort where they are leading the way in South Mississippi’s culinary world. With more than 125 years of combined experience, these 11 award-winning women bring the heat every time they step into a kitchen at the Gulfport resort – and beyond.
Led by Executive Sous Chef Jackie Seavey, named 2019 World Food Champion, the women, as individuals and as team members, boast a number of awards, including first place in the Real California Cheese & Mac Challenge won by Prime Cut Chef Mary Grace Moss; three-time Best Chocolate award in the Gulf Coast Beer & Bacon Festival; second place, Chef’s Secret Panel in the Mississippi Delta Catfish Cook-Off won by Buffet Sous Chef Penny Rush; and most recently, People’s Choice won by The View @ 19 Sous Chef Latonya Smith in the 2024 Slider Smackdown.
With their impressive accolades and unwavering passion for the culinary arts, these women are not just breaking stereotypes – they are setting new standards. Their dedication, creativity, and expertise have transformed the resort into a culinary destination where every dish tells a story of skill and innovation.
