Jacqueline Gilich Wilson knew from a young age that she wanted to be in control of her life. “I wasn’t sure what career would make it happen for me until I started working at Biloxi Beach Resort Rentals (BBRR),” she recalled. “Then it all started to connect for me. I did want to be an astronaut after attending space camp in the 6th grade, but sadly I get motion sickness driving my own car. Flying into outer space did not fit into my future!”
Lack of space suit aside, Wilson has found her calling at BBRR. “My favorite part about my job is my work family,” she says. “We are a very tight knit group. We support each other in everything we do, personally and professionally. They make the hard times bearable and the good times even better!”
With their support, Wilson has been able to overcome one of her biggest obstacles: self-doubt. “There is nothing like owning your own business,” she says. “There have been many blessings, but there have been a lot of difficult times too. I’ve had to teach myself to put away the self-doubt and make things happen.”
Her family has always been her inspiration and she strives to make them proud. She has been married to her husband, Aaron, for 14 years. Together they have a beautiful daughter, Caroline Jaye, who is 12 years old. The family also has two amazing fur babies: Maggie (5) and Lucky Girl (6).
Giving back to the community is a passion of hers. “God blessed me with the ability to help others, so I do so whenever and wherever I can,” she says. She is very involved in Mardi Gras along the Gulf Coast and loves traveling and exploring new parts of the U.S. with her family. On warm weekends though, you’ll find them at Horn Island!
