And that’s exactly what happens every day at Associated Food Equipment & Supplies, Inc. in Gulfport.
“The ladies here play an integral part in the day-to-day operation,” said Gretchen Maxwell, who has been a branch manager for more than 24 years. “We are like a family.”
The company custom designs commercial kitchens for clients such as casinos, schools, correction facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and independent restaurants.
“We’re kind of the hub of the whole organization,” Maxwell said, adding the company also has two locations in Louisiana. “The Gulfport location is our corporate office and the ladies in the office perform duties for all three locations, they are truly the best”
The all-woman team includes Sarah Strong, 23 years as an office manager; Kathy Preston, more than two years as an account manager; Jasmine Henson, two years in customer service; Carol Brunson, accounting assistant for six months; Jana King, more than one year in accounts receivable; and
Georgia Lowery, more than one year in the controller division.
