What’s something interesting about you that not many people know?
I have worked at the Chancery Clerks office since I was 16 years old.
What moment from your life made the biggest impact on your career?
I had my daughter Kristen at a young age and raised her as a single mother for many years. It was hard – I was young and not ready to be a mother, but I had to grow up quick.
It was through raising her that I learned to work hard, be dedicated and committed, and to keep pushing myself. I didn’t have the opportunity to stop –I had to provide for her and give her the life she deserved. She made me strong! I’m very proud of the young women she is today.
Who or what inspired you to pursue your current career?
My father. He’s always told me that our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results and it has always stuck with me!
What I like best about what I do is:
The best part of my job is serving others. Many times, a phone call will land at my desk after several unsuccessful attempts with other departments. I pride myself on being patient, a great listener and a problem solver. The highlight of my day is being able to address someone’s concerns and give them helpful answers.
