Lauren Damond was born in Southern Oregon where she grew up with her parents and older sister. After graduating high school, she had a tremendous desire to travel. “I spent two years in Australia and Southeast Asia working and seeing the sights,” she recalls. Upon returning to the States, Damond enrolled in cosmetology school so she could pursue the dream of her ultimate job; owner of a unique and modern salon.
For several years, she worked as a stylist before starting Hair + Tonic at the old train depot in Downtown Gulfport. The business took off and she soon outgrew that space.
In February 2021, Damond moved Hair + Tonic to a newer, larger, more ideal location on 25th Avenue in Gulfport. “I’ve been very careful picking only the best stylists,” Damond says. “I think you will find a mix of simplicity and elegance in a warm and welcoming environment when you visit our salon.”
