opens into a bright foyer that’s punctuated with a round table painted white. An inset nook holds special family mementos that include a horse saddle used by Lindsay’s dad, Neal Shapiro, and also used by her, along with riding boots and a crop. She grew up in South Florida where horses were the order of the day. Shapiro rode in the Olympics and trained horses. Lindsay’s mother also rides and the couple met at a horse show in Madison Square Garden.
Just off the foyer, the dining room has stylish monogramed chair covers and two framed Hermes scarves that command attention. One scarf belonged to Lindsay’s mother and the other was a high school graduation gift.
On the other side of the foyer a home office is the home’s only room with dark stained woodwork and shelves, providing a business-like atmosphere.
The spacious family room is wrapped in Sherwin Williams’ Olympian White that takes on shades of blue or gray depending on the light. Comfortable seating and family items make it inviting and relaxing. Lots of windows give this room and the adjacent kitchen and informal dining room plenty of natural light.
