like best about owning a restaurant and working in the industry. Rick said his favorite dish to prepare is shrimp gumbo, and Phillip likes cooking his mother’s Sicilian spaghetti recipe.
For anyone wishing to pursue a career in the restaurant industry, Phillip said that patience is key. For Rick, food quality and presentation are both important aspects of running a successful business. “If it’s pleasing to the eye, it’s pleasing to the palate,” he said.
Petie’s Eats is open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., serving breakfast and lunch. Petie’s Eats is a member of the Mississippi Coast Restaurant and Beverage Association.
