IN BUSINESS
As Executive Vice President for Saad Healthcare, Dorothy Saad-Dunning is thankful for many reasons these days.
2018 is very special year for Saad Healthcare as they celebrate 50 years in
the business, with family members of the third generation working right alongside
the founders. Even in these modern times, Saad Healthcare keeps some 50-year-old business traditions alive. “Our business is
a 24/7 operation, always has been,” says Saad-Dunning. “If a patient calls our office, regardless of the time, they speak to a nurse, not an answering service or machine.”
Saad provides healthcare services including nursing and physical therapy, wound
care and occupational therapy, lymphatic
therapy and speech therapy, all performed by a highly trained staff of therapists,
RN’s, LPN’s and Certified Nurse Assistants. Saad therapists are also certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Technique (LSVT) therapy for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease.
It is these kind of services, borne of a family-owned and operated entity, that puts Saad Healthcare on a different level when it comes to patient care. According to Saad- Dunning, many area doctors exclusively refer their patients to Saad Healthcare because they understand the difference that 50 years in the business makes. “It is different here
at Saad,” Saad-Dunning said. “Work ethic and family are two very important factors
in the Saad Healthcare success story. Life
is ever-changing, but if you are honest and flexible, you really can make a difference, and we do.”
When asked what perceptions about home health and hospice she would like people to know, Saad-Dunning is clear. “Studies have shown that patients do better in the home environment. Over the years we have had the privilege of providing home care to so many families.” she said. “Our mission is to provide quality care and make a difference for our patients. It’s ‘Your Home, Your Health and Your Choice.’ That motto is what has kept my family and this business going for over fifty years, and I’m sure will keep it going for fifty more.”
